Career Transition

“A butterfly starts life as a caterpillar. And when arrived at some stages in lifecycle, it starts its transformation, becomes a cocoon and then grows & transitions into a beautiful creature that flutters into an exciting new life…”

Career Transition

In our ever-changing modern world a linear career trajectory is no longer the norm.

Transitioning occurs for a number of reasons including organisational restructuring, retrenchment, job dissatisfaction and lack of professional fulfilment.

With a background in human resources and recruitment, Kerry concentrates on understanding each client’s career path to date, their respective strengths, skills and achievements, and how these can potentially translate to professional reinvention.

Springboard Coaching’s Career Transition programmes include:

  • Promoting the discovery of professions best suited to a clients interest, values and personality.
  • Assessing and identifying individual achievements, marketable competencies and alternative careers.
  • Assistance with practical job search skills and effective networking, utilisation of social media, optimising self marketing and developing a personal brand.
  • Interview strategies utilising STAR methodology and behavioural based interviewing techniques.
  • Assistance with cover letters and CV construction.
  • Negotiation of job offers for win-win outcomes.
  • Transitioning to a new role – planning the first 30 and 90 days, building trust with peers and employees.

When my position was made redundant, rather than get down about it or just accepting any new job, I decided to stop and reassess my situation. Calling Springboard Coaching was the best decision I could have made. Kerry helped me to identify that while I enjoyed the work I had been doing, I was actually after an organisation that better reflected my own values and could offer career progression and security. Through questioning and discussion, she helped me to paint a clearer picture of what I was actually seeking and helped me compile a resume that could be specifically tailored and better reflected my strengths. She showed me how to write succinct and relevant cover letters and to develop eMedia skills such as LinkedIn. Kerry’s interview training was invaluable, as were her tips for networking and job offer negotiations. Happily in my ‘dream job’, I am working for an organisation I love with strong career progression prospects. I’m not sure I could have done this without Kerry’s encouragement and help.
